The 23-second clip was shared on Instagram by Russian tourist Kira Suvorova, who describes herself as a psychologist on her profile. In the caption, she wrote: “We decided to walk to the shop in Agra. Never do this.”
The video, reportedly shot on Yamuna Kinara Road, shows Kira Suvorova walking along the roadside. An auto-rickshaw driver and another man approach her, creating an uncomfortable moment that highlights concerns about tourist safety in Agra. She walks forward, looking visibly uncomfortable. However, locals call out, “Ma’am, Ma’am, Excuse me, Ma’am,” while her companion records the moment behind her.
The video quickly gained traction online, receiving over 23,000 likes and thousands of shares within 48 hours. Nevertheless, many users expressed concern about the foreign tourist’s experience, fueling debate about safety and public behavior in Agra.
Agra Police later clarified that several claims circulating online about the incident were misleading and exaggerated, urging caution against misinformation.
Assistant Police Commissioner Sukanya Sharma clarified that no molestation or explicit harassment occurred. She added that some social media posts were spreading false narratives about the incident and urged people to avoid misinformation.

According to police officials, the tourist recorded and uploaded the video herself while walking on the road and later said she felt uncomfortable during the experience. Authorities said this fueled online rumors and misleading interpretations, intensifying confusion and spreading false narratives about the incident.
Moreover, police emphasized their commitment to “Atithi Devo Bhava” and tourist safety in Agra, home to the Taj Mahal. Officials warned that authorities could pursue legal action against individuals spreading misinformation or inflammatory content about the incident on social media.
