Canadian photographer François Brunelle has spent over 20 years traveling the globe in search of unbelievable lookalike strangers — people who could easily be mistaken for long-lost twins.
To date, François has captured more than 200 pairs of unrelated individuals who share an uncanny resemblance. What began as a single serendipitous discovery among friends has grown into a viral photography project that brings people from around the world together.
“People love the idea of having a double somewhere out there,” François explains. “It’s like finding your mirror in the world.”
The most amazing part? These strangers meet for the very first time during the photo shoot — and even they are astonished by how strikingly similar they look.

François Brunelle’s work shows that the world is full of unbelievable lookalike strangers, proving that sometimes reality is stranger — and more fascinating — than fiction.
