Few animals are naturally friendly, but caution should be exercised when dealing with them, especially if children are present.
A video is going viral on the Internet. It shows a sea lion dragging a little girl into the water and holding her by her dress. The video also shows how a family member brings the little girl out of the water. The incident occurred at Steveston Fisherman’s Wharf in Richmond, Canada.
It so happened that some tourists were looking at the sea lion, which came close to the pier. A little girl also came to see the animal with her family, and out of excitement, she sat on the pier. This is when, all of a sudden, the animal jumped and pulled her into the water.
As the girl fell, the people present panicked, and one man jumped into the water immediately to save her. The man is said to be a family member of the girl; nevertheless, after this incident, she didn’t stay there for even a minute and walked away in a state of complete shock.

Michael Fujiwara was shooting the animal before the frightful happened, and he also recorded the complete incident. This is what he told the Vancouver Sun,
“The sea lion actually attracted a lot of attention from the visitors there, including the young girl. She and her family, I guess, they came, they started feeding the animal bread crumbs or whatever it was, and then I guess the animal got a little too comfortable.”
Our advice to everyone is to keep a distance from animals, even if you are sure they are harmless.
