Avatar stars pose in underwater photos: Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, and Kate Winslet recently posed for photographer Christy Lee Rogers. The series highlights ocean conservation and supports a meaningful cause.
The director of the Avatar series, James Cameron, and Disney commissioned the pics as a way to raise funds for The Nature Conservancy. The business aims to conserve 10% of the world’s oceans by 2030, and some of the proceeds from the sale of Rogers’ prints will support this mission.
The photos are not only worth seeing but also stunning in their own right. The actors wear bright blue and purple fabrics that blend with the surroundings. They float weightlessly, eyes closed and arms open. Every shot captures perfect harmony with the natural world around them.
On her site, Rogers says, “Water is healing—it is life itself. Our oceans, which provide oxygen through tiny phytoplankton, need more care than ever. I feel honored to work with James Cameron, Jon Landau, and the Avatar and Disney teams. Together, we aim to make a meaningful impact. Together, we work to protect clean and safe oceans for everyone. Releasing these photos for The Nature Conservancy supports that dream.”
Those interested in obtaining Rogers’ prints can do so through her website.
